Jonas Hollevoet is a Belgian film director whose work balances tragedy and humor, color and darkness. His films explore the absurd in the everyday and celebrates the fragile chaos of being human.

Jonas Hollevoet is a filmmaker from Ghent who tells stories that live between confetti and tears. Where the absurd meets the sincere, and color reveals what words leave behind.

With a master’s degree from LUCA School of Arts in Brussels, Jonas found his footing in the vibrant world of music videos. There, playfulness and creative collaboration with musicians shaped his visual voice: colorful, tragicomic, and always deeply human.

His short films have screened at international festivals, recognized for their tender, often absurd take on the emotional messiness of being alive. Jonas balances humor and heartbreak in stories that feel both intimate and universal. Capturing moments where we laugh, flinch, or simply feel seen.

Beyond his own work, Jonas teaches film with the same warmth and curiosity he brings to set. Through lessons and workshops, he guides others to find their voice, trust their instincts, and tell honest stories. Not just with technique, but with heart.

Whether he's lighting a scene or lighting a spark in a student, Jonas believes in filmmaking as connection: imperfect, vivid, a little strange and always human.
